Glowing up is all about being the best version of yourself. Keep reading for our best tips on how to glow up!
If you aren’t feeling like yourself lately, we’re here to provide you with some motivation and inspiration! The year can take a toll on us without us wanting to admit it or even realizing it in the first place.
Glowing up all starts with you making the decision and commitment to take care of yourself and be the person you want to see thriving.
Here are our best tips on how to glow up and take control of your happiness!
How to Glow Up
Create a Skincare Routine
One major key on how to glow up is taking care of yourself, your skin included.
I preach this so much you’d think I’d be sponsored by now. Skincare is the key to helping yourself thrive and flourish. Taking care of your skin feels good, and your body will appreciate it in the long run.
If you’re in need of a good skincare routine, here is a great place to start!
Drink a lot of Water
Drinking water will flush out all of the toxins in your body that are sitting around idly. Unfortunately, soda and most store-bought fruit juices contain mass amounts of sugar that only harm your body’s rhythm and balance.
If the juice is 100% freshly squeezed, it can pass. Water is the best thing to stay hydrated and keep your skin clear.
Stretch Every Morning and Night
Stretching every morning and night can help your muscles with their strength and flexibility. But, time will catch up to you when you’re 80 and struggling to do basic tasks because you neglected taking care of your body when you were younger.
Stretching in the morning and night can also help you appear taller and leaner. In addition, you can reduce stress, anxiety, and injury by incorporating simple stretching routines like the one below.
Doing yoga has also helped me in my mental and physical glow up. Incorporating quick yoga routines in the morning can make you more relaxed, and you don’t need to be a pro to begin— everyone goes at their own pace! In addition, breathing along with stretching further increases your vibrations and your ability to flow.
Here’s a quick yoga routine if you need something easy to incorporate into your schedule:
Meditate
Meditating in the morning before you start the day is a great practice to start. Over time, I feel that I have become a happier and more calm person. When situations arise that aren’t in my favor, meditation is a great way to calm nerves, anxiety, sadness, or anger.
Meditation is not about clearing your mind and thinking of nothing, but bettering yourself by not dwelling on the past or future and focusing on the present.
Manifest Your Desires
Manifestation is something that anyone can do. Visualizing what you want and who you want to be will only bring the universe closer to giving you what you desire.
You can manifest by writing your dreams and goals down in a journal, saying daily affirmations out loud, and even creating a vision board of what you want.
Exercise Regularly
Hitting the gym every day is not for the faint of heart. It can be hard to get the membership and then utilize it, especially when we don’t have time.
Purchasing a workout weight and a few dumbbells has helped me out a lot in my fitness journey. Working out at home can be just as sweaty and intense as lifting in the gym—don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
Don’t forget to work on posture; a foam roller will be your best friend here.
Try a Plant-Based Diet
Going full-on vegan is a challenging transition, but it is manageable over time. First, begin to cut out red meat (you’ll feel a whole lot better). Eating and preparing raw foods will help you feel full after eating (as opposed to the instant regret from fast food).
If you can’t cut out dairy and meat altogether, it’s better to at least try to incorporate more plant-based foods into your diet. For example, cheeses, spreads, and eggs are easy plant-based products to switch over to. There are so many brands to try out that eventually, you will find the right one.
Eat More Fruits and Veggies
Going along with the last point, adding more veggies and fruits to your diet will help your body replenish itself with nutrients and vitamins. As a result, your skin will glow even more, and you’ll feel better making the right food choice!
Everything can be eaten in moderation, but substituting fries for a side of fruit or veggies is a great way to up your intake. Remember that ordering it or buying it is the hardest part.
Take Vitamins
Iron has helped me a lot with dizziness and lightheadedness. Magnesium can help reduce anxiety and improve digestion. Vitamin D3 and B12 will help your stay-in-bed-all-day blues and keep your body’s blood healthy.
If you aren’t sure which vitamins to start with, probiotics are a safe bet!
Set Goals for Yourself
Setting new goals will help you to stay motivated and not procrastinate. If you know what you want, it’s time to get it. Keep yourself on track by writing it all down.
Try Something New
Whether it is a new hairstyle, a new makeup look, or a new wardrobe, stepping out of your comfort zone is good for personal growth. Trying something new helps you become less stagnant; you can flourish by exploring yourself and trying new things.
Do something you’ve never done before, something that you’ll be happy you did for yourself!
Find a New Hobby
Explore your options and try new ways to express yourself. You can paint, sing, dance, journal, and about a million other things. There is always something new to try.
I have recently picked up crocheting and started to make my own clothes. Not to brag but I think I’m doing pretty good!
Find something that lets you express what is inside of you; don’t hold back.
Be Confident
Fake it till you make it. Nobody is thinking all of the anxious thoughts you’re having about yourself.
Give yourself a break and know that you’re the hottest in the room. If you act like it, others will believe it. Romanticize your life!
Surround Yourself With Gratitude and Positivity
You are who you hang around with. Take time out of your day to thank the universe for everything you have and everything you can get. You most likely have what most people could only dream of, so don’t take life for granted.
Surround yourself with others who are gracious and don’t float around negative ideals all day. You want to have people around who motivate you to do better and be better.
Bottom Line
Taking on any of these new ways to glow up can be overwhelming at first, but you will appreciate it over time. So take the time to figure yourself out, read a new book, or watch a movie that changes your perspective on things.
There are so many people and things that influence us—it’s important we see the world and ourselves from our own POV. The ultimate goal is to feel better and feel healthy. Put yourself and your mental health first!
