As the brand puts it, “You don’t buy NAKEDCASHMERE, you collect it.” These aren’t pieces that you buy on a whim and get rid of next month, and that’s reflected in the price.
For a piece made of 100% virgin cashmere, prices start at around $80 for a simple bralette or t-shirt, moving up to about $125 to $250 for pants and tops, and ending at about $400 for a larger cardigan, long sleeve sweater, or robe.
That said, prices here are pretty comparable to what you might pay for similar pieces at J Crew, and companies like Bochu Walker sell similar items for hundreds of dollars more.
Ethics And Sustainability
Naked Cashmere claims to be sustainable, fair trade, and traceable. From what we could find, the company seems to keep their promises, but there are also a few concerns.
As for sustainability, there’s always a question as to whether buying a product of farming is sustainable. There is a certain amount of carbon dioxide that’s always going to be produced from the grazing of goats, but the good news is that goat grazing generally produces lower amounts of CO2 than cattle grazing.
In addition, you can buy items that bypass those emissions all together, as there are pieces that are made of 100% recycled cashmere. There are also pieces made of linen and cotton if you would rather bypass animal fibers altogether.
One issue on this front is the fabric blends, which often incorporate spandex. According to the company, their spandex is not recycled. Since this is a petroleum-derived fabric, it’s probably best to avoid it if you’re trying to shop as sustainably as you can. Luckily, this is made very easy on the website since you can filter out items that are made of blended fabrics.
As for how your items get to you, the outer packaging is made of 100% recycled cardboard and the inner sleeve is biodegradable. If you do happen to see any plastic, that’s recycled as well.
The company claims to work with herders that use non-harmful shearing techniques, avoiding shearing them during the winter. They also purchase their herders’ entire harvest regardless of any ups and downs in quality so that whomever they work with is still guaranteed a living. The result should be fair trade and cruelty-free yarns.
However, since we don’t know who these manufacturers are, it’s difficult to fully evaluate any of these claims. To be fair, the cashmere yarns used are certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), but that’s not the same as saying that they are fair trade and cruelty-free.
Again, the company claims that their manufacturers have these certifications, but we don’t exactly know who they are referring to, so we don’t know which companies to check certifications for.

For a luxury brand, you might expect the shipping policy to be quite a hassle, but you’d be luckily mistaken here.
For orders placed in the United States, visit returns.nakedcashmere.com and simply follow the instructions to initiate your return. Once your return is authorized, you’ll get a prepaid shipping label via email to pack up your items to send back.
It is worth noting though that you only have 14 days after you receive your items to initiate a return, so you’ll have to make your decision rather quickly. They also have to be returned in the original packaging with original tags, unworn and unwashed.
It’s not a lot of time to decide if an item is right for you, but the process is relatively hassle-free. The only thing that might give you a concern when placing your order is that you can’t make any changes after it’s been placed. If you accidentally select the wrong size, you’re going to have to wait until the item gets to you to return it.
